Paying Balances

Credit Card on File

Healthcare and healthcare insurance are going through many changes that affect healthcare providers as well as patients. Like most Americans, you are likely experiencing an insurance plan that has higher co-payments, co-insurance, and/or deductibles, which leads to greater payment responsibility from you, the patient.

Because of this changing environment and to make payments easier for the patient and our practice, we require all patients (exceptions below) to leave an encrypted, secure credit card number on file. The number is not kept at our office but on file with First Data, the world’s largest credit card processor. Alternatively, you can pay in full at the time of the visit and we can refund amounts paid by your insurance company. Please be assured that your card will only be used to pay balances after your insurance company has processed your claim and only after we notify you by email.

Exceptions to this policy include:

  • For Medicare, varies from $0-$50 requirement
  • For self-pay patients (i.e., no insurance), payment in full is required at time of service
